About the Event
Anyone can learn to play the gong, no prior music or meditation experience is required. Gong playing is a great way to learn to meditate on your own, or you can kick start your journey to becoming a gong meditation practitioner with this course.
Leading a meditative gong bath, as well as playing the gong, is an intuitive practice. However, it's also a great responsibility and there are several considerations to be aware of before facilitating a group session. Join this training to learn how to safely and skillfully host gong baths and be on your way to host your very first session.
The training will take place over four days in addition to individual practice and exploration. Dates will be announced as soon.
Part One of the course will introduce you to different types of gongs; the history, theory and science of gong meditation; and include an overview of playing techniques as well as practice time with gongs and other instruments. Part Two will help you understand how to set up and prepare for a gong bath, how to welcome and take care of guests, how to transition into the gong playing, how to create an enjoyable soundscape, and how to take care of guests and yourself after the session. If you prefer to only complete one part of the training (learning to play the gong or hosting a gong bath), please get in touch to discuss options.
