This a focused, practical, and interactive workshop, conducted online via Zoom. The benefit of the online format is that you can learn and practice directly with your own gong at home, which will allow you to develop a relationship with your own gong and optimize your personal set up.
You are stronglly encouraged to purcahse a gong before the first group session, and I will support you in selecting one. Upon signing up for the course, you'll receive a guide and tutorial on all the different types of gongs, where to buy them, and then have time to select and purchase a gong, mallets and stand before the practical part of the training. I will also be available for any questions and to support you in this process.
The first part of the course will then introduce you to the history, theory and science of gong meditation, and includes an overview of playing techniques as well as practice time with the gong. The second part will help you understand how to set up and prepare for a gong bath, how to welcome and take care of guests, how to transition into the gong playing, how to create an enjoyable soundscape, and how to take care of guests and yourself after the session.
To support your leanring, you will receive a handbook as well as access to the recordings from each session.
After having completed the training and reviewed the handbook materials, you should feel confident about the various considerations in setting up and guiding a group gong bath. As a bonus, you will also have an optional 30 minute 1-1 mentoring call after the course to address any personal questions, concerns or other topics you might like to get more guidance on.
