About the Event

Playing the gong is very much of an intuitive practice, so anyone can learn to play as long as you remain curious, motivated and let yourself be guided by a positive intention and intuition. Gong playing is a great way to meditate on your own, and it's also very effective relaxation technique.

The GONG training programme is divided into two parts, both of which include theory and practice. This ticket is for the first part, which introduces you to the history, theory and science of gong meditation, and includes an overview of playing techniques as well as playing time with our gongs. You will also receive individual advice on what kind of gong to purchase if you are interested in buying one for yourself.

The second part, which will be offered 15-16 September, is designed for those who want to go further and learn to facilitate gong baths. Combined, Parts 1 and 2 are a first step towards qualifying to deliver gong baths at the GONG studio, or to incorporating gong meditation into your personal and business activities. However you can choose to only attend the first part if you just want to learn to play for yourself.

This first part of the training will cover the following topics:

Introduction to the Gong & Sound Meditation

• History of the Gong & Gong Baths

• Science of Sound Meditation (mental & physical benefits)

• Types of Gongs & Mallets

Introduction to Playing the Gong
