About the Event
Leading a gong bath, just like playing the gong, is an intuitive practice. However, it's also a great responsibility and there are several considerations to be aware of before facilitating a public gong meditation session. Join this training to learn about these considerations and be on your way to host your very first session.
This training will cover the following topics:
- Facilitating Gong Baths
- Setting the Intention
- Creating a Welcoming Space
- Introducing the Gong Bath
- Disclaimers
- Guided Meditation Practices
- Creating a Sound Journey
- Closing the Gong Bath
- Before & After Participant Care
- Guiding session virtually
- Setting up a Practice
Group & Individual Practice
- Group & Individual Practice during workshop
- Additional Individual Practice Time with the Gong (self-study with guidance)
- Facilitate a gong bath for your friends & family
- Private 1-1 training call with Selma
This weeknight workshop is structured to help you understand how to set up and prepare for a gong bath, how to welcome and take care of guests, how to transition into the gong playing, how to create an enjoyable soundscape, and how to take care of guests and yourself after the session. After having completed the training and reviewed the handbook materials you will receive, you should feel confident about the various considerations in setting up and guiding a group gong bath. You will also be supported in facilitating your very first session!
As a bonus, you will also have an optional 30 minute mentoring call with Selma after the workshop to address any personal questions, concerns or other topics you might like to get more guidance on.
Note about the GONG Training Programme:
The gong player and practitioner training we offer is divided into two parts, both of which include theory and practice:
- Part 1: Learning to Play the Gong introduces you to the history, theory and science of gong meditation, and includes an overview of playing techniques as well as practice time with the gong
- Part 2: Hosting a Gong Bath is designed for those who want to go further and learn to facilitate gong baths.
Combined, Parts 1 and 2 are a first step towards qualifying to deliver gong baths at the GONG studio, or to incorporating gong meditation into your personal or professional activities. Completing both Parts 1 & 2 in addition to a practical and written assignement will qualify you to receive a Certification accredied by the Complementary Medical Association.
This workshop is for Part 2, and it will be hosted online via Zoom. The benefit of the online format is that you can learn and practice directly with your own gong at home, which will allow you to play around with and optimize your personal set up. It is a focused, practical, and interactive workshop .
